Author Peter Fry with the genuine Ryder Cup
Peter Fry is a familiar figure around Dorset golf having taken on various roles from that of golf club secretary to donor of a trophy for junior golf. Peter has perpetuated the memory of the famous Whitcombe brothers with his book ‘The Whitcombes – A Golfing Legend’. He has contributed articles on golf history for various publications and written a book on cricket history entitled ‘Dorset 100 Not Out’. Peter is a keen member of various golfing bodies including The British Golf Collectors’ Society, The English Golf Union, The Golf Club Managers’ Association and The Golf Foundation. He is a member at Came Down Golf Club near Dorchester and Ryde Golf Club on the Isle of Wight.
